Matthew 1:23 - "God with us"
God loves the world and wants to be with us, however...
According to John 1:9, even though God, who IS the true light, became a man and came into the world so that He could enlighten EVERY man... And, even though, according to John 1:10, He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, …the world did not know Him. And I think it is safe to say that the world could have cared less that God was with them. And if that wasn't bad enough, verse 11 goes on to say, He came to His own (the Jews), and those who were His own did not receive Him. Actually they crucified Him, and the result: God was no longer with them!
As I prepared for Sunday's message, I discovered that this wasn't the first time that happened. The Bible records 6 times that God made His glory available to mankind and 6 times the world rejected Him! How undeserving the world will be, one day, to experience God's steadfast love that will result in "God with us" for a 7th time that will last for all eternity.
In this message, we will look at what the Bible has to say about these 7 times God was with mankind - past, present, and future. You may be surprised to see that the Bible even gives us insight about that pesky Islamic Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. Spoiler alert, it's not a problem.
But if you want to know the specifics, well, what is it that Pastor Steve says? Oh, yeah... View and See!
Because He lives!
