It is never good when you start your car and see the check engine light flashing. If the light does come on, the problem is NOT the light – there is nothing wrong with the light, it is working perfectly. But it IS an indication that something could be seriously wrong with the engine that, if ignored, could cause catastrophic damage. In the same way, the God-given emotions of discouragement and depression are not sinful, but they ARE God's indicators that there IS something wrong in our lives that needs to be fixed before irreparable damage might occur. In the Bible, God reveals how we can remove these often debilitating emotions and restore the peace, joy and usefulness God desires for us. At our Wednesday Night Service, after a review of what causes "our spiritual check engine light" to come on, we will examine "The Cure for Spiritual Depression and Discouragement," something we all need to understand.
