Whatever context that word finds itself in your day, it almost always conjures up a strong emotion or reaction. Often, we are the ones wanting someone else to be more obedient. Kids of course come to mind, or maybe the idiot in front of you as you sit at a traffic circle. Less-than-holy thoughts can creep in fast when people are not "obeying" what we think they should obey.

Then there is obedience for us. We tend to be less harsh with ourselves when we are asked, or called, to be obedient.
