We have come to the seventh and final “I Am Statement” that Jesus made about Himself, and in these seven declarations we are given a glimpse into exactly Who Jesus is according to Himself and not what someone else has said about Him. So lets recap > 1st Jesus said that “I Am The Bread of Life” John 6:35, 2nd “I Am The Light of the World” John 8:12, 3rd “I Am The Door of the sheep” John 10:7, 4th “I Am The Good Shepherd” John 10:11, 5th “I Am The Resurrection and The Life” John 11:25, 6th “I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life” John 14:6.

Last week Jesus declared Himself as “The Resurrection and The Life” before He raised Lazarus from the dead, and in doing so He asked Martha the sister of Lazarus “do you believe this”? Everything Jesus is doing is a Testimony of Who He is, the question is will we believe it, or will we ignore it, whether you choose to believe Him or choose to ignore Him determines where you’ll be in eternity, either with Him, or separated from Him.

Jesus has declared Himself as “The Door” and that any who has tried to claim that they are the correct entrance into a right relationship with God are imposters, nothing more than thieves and robbers, who have come to deceive and harm those who will follow them. But according to V9 those who come through the opening that Jesus provides will be saved, and have their daily needs in this life, and eternal destination in the life to come secured.

We are now on the third of Jesus great “I Am statements” where He tells all of mankind exactly Who He is, why He’s come, and what He will do, the problem is man doesn’t listen. John chapter 10 is where we read about a man who after Jesus healed both his natural eyes (he was born blind), and his spiritual eyes (he receives Jesus as his Lord), is rejected by man, and yet he is sought after, found, and invited to follow Jesus, which he accepts.

There is a place in scripture Matt 16:13-15, where Jesus asks His disciples “who do men say that I Am” the disciples answered and said some think you’re a reincarnation of John the Baptist, others say your one of the prophets like Elijah or Jeremiah! Then Jesus asks them “but who do you say that I Am?” It’s one thing to quote what others are saying but it’s quite the other to share what you think, because then it becomes personal doesn’t it?
