Paul is going to continue explaining why believers are to focus on things that have eternal value, and will edify the Church, as well as uplift and encourage individuals to follow diligently after The Lord and not after the world. The wonderful example of Chapters 14-15 show that nothing is new under the sun that the things that we are currently going through in our walk with The Lord believers centuries ago were struggling with also, the difference is we have the privilege to read about how they overcame, emerging victorious on the other side.

Paul is explaining how we as believers can help encourage each other in our spiritual growth with The Lord, and sometimes that means coming alongside of one another with all of our struggles, faults, and weaknesses. This is not the pretty side of ministry, it’s hard for the one helping and the one struggling but its necessary, as we have been given the ministry of reconciliation, that doesn’t mean we only help unbelievers get saved, but also believers draw closer to The Lord, stirring them up in fulfilling their ministry for The Lord.

In the Last two chapters the Apostle Paul has instructed us on how were to function within the Body Ch 12, and within society Ch13, now in Ch 14 he is going to tell us how to function in disagreements particularly within the Church family. Whether we know it or not God has put a heavy emphasis on believers getting along with one another > Jn 13:34-35 says this is how the world knows that we belong to Jesus by the love that we have toward each other.
