The Place of Peace

December 10, 2017 • Pastor Aaron Groat

The prophet Micah wrote during difficult days in the history of the Jewish nation. Crime was rampant, greed was everywhere, Judah's leaders were cruel, and righteousness was nowhere to be found. Yet God inspired Micah to encourage the nation with the truth that someone was coming who would change the world.

Giving at Calvary

GIVING AT CALVARY BURLINGTON Everything we own and everything we have comes from God, so our giving (or "offering") is simply how we offer God a small portion of all the abundance He has already given to us. The Old Testament instructed believers to give a tithe, or a tenth (10%), of their earnings because this represented the first part of what they had received. The New Testament doesn't suggest any specific percentage for giving, but simply reminds believers to give in keeping with how much you have earned (1 Corinthians 16:2). Giving is not meant to be legalistic, but a joyful expression of worship and thanks to God! Your giving supports the work of the Calvary Burlington not only on Sundays, but 7-days per week. Calvary is involved in our community through partnerships with many organizations, including Healthy Kids Community Challenge, Halton Regional Police, Halton Public Heath Department, Community Development Halton, North BurLINKton Community Group and many more. You can give to Calvary Burlington by cash or cheque, online through Email Money Transfer, or through Canada Helps. Please include your personal information so that we can issue a tax receipt. Cash or Cheque Please make cheques payable to Calvary Baptist Church Burlington. You can bring your offering with you on Sundays, drop it through our 24-hr mail slot, or send it via Canada Post (please don't send cash!). Don't forget to email our Treasurer immediately afterwards to let him know the password to accept the money transfer! Canada Helps You can donate to Calvary Burlington via Canada Helps. Please note that Canada Helps keeps a portion of your offering to pay for their administrative fees. The Promise of Peace

December 3, 2017 • Pastor Aaron Groat

Where can we find peace today? What can it look like? Does it even exist? This Christmas we invite you to rediscover peace at Calvary Burlington. Each week we'll focus on the topic of peace as reflected in the account of Jesus' birth. Today we begin by looking at Isaiah 9:7 and the prophecy of the Messiah's birth.
