Enjoy God's Greater Victory

November 29, 2020

We were challenged last week to Embrace God's Greater Plan for 2020. This week in 2 Samuel 8:1-18 we will be encouraged to Enjoy God's Greater Victory in 2020. Jesus Christ is greater than any battle we are facing in our lives!

Embrace God's Greater Plan

November 22, 2020

This Sunday we will be blessed by the truths in 2 Samuel 7:18-29. Our lives have been turned upside down in 2020. Many of our good plans for 2020 have been put on hold or are no longer possible. We will learn from this great passage how to embrace God's greater plan, rather than trying to hold onto our good plans.

God is Building His Promised House for Our Eternal Rest

November 15, 2020 • Paul Wilson

This Sunday we’ll worship through 2 Samuel 7:1-17, which one theologian has declared “the most crucial theological statement in the Old Testament.” If that scares you off, be assured that it has profound personal implications for your soul. We’ll be reminded of the kind of rest God created us to have. Come and join us as we worship through the preaching of God’s Word, the singing of God’s praises, and the testimonies of God’s people, as our Elder Hal Mante will share a thanksgiving testimony.

The Danger, Joy, and Supremacy of God’s Holy Presence

November 8, 2020 • Paul Wilson

This Sunday we’ll wade through 2 Samuel 6, a weighty chapter that exposes how prone we are to trivialize God. Yet even in the midst of the deep truths, there is much joy and celebration. We will celebrate God’s grace and mercy through a testimony, as well as humble ourselves before our Holy God as we sing again the new song “Only a Holy God.”

The Kind of Greatness God Wants

November 1, 2020 • Paul Wilson

This Sunday we’ll continue in 2 Samuel 5 as David is finally recognized as the King of Israel. In the midst of this triumph, we will learn to readjust our conceptions of greatness in light of how God uses David. We’ll pray for our country and the election, as well as celebrate Communion together.

As God’s Kingdom Rises, False Kingdoms Crumble

October 25, 2020 • Paul Wilson

This Sunday we’ll continue in 2 Samuel 3-4 where we’ll see the crumbling of one kingdom, and the rising of another. The stories are somewhat foreign to our experience, but the lessons are very relevant: only God’s kingdom and rule will stand. We’ll be challenged to live in light of God’s true kingdom. And then later in the day on Sunday, we’ll have a Concert of Prayer for the nations (see below).

Trust God as He Establishes His King, His Way

October 18, 2020 • Paul Wilson

This Sunday we’ll continue our new series in 2 Samuel. In chapter 2 we’ll see David’s rise to the throne, even while his enemies and friends engage in gory violence. Through these stories, we’ll be reminded of the dangers of taking things in our own hands, and the joyful rest we get by trusting God’s promises.

When Your Enemies Fail, Humbly Trust God

October 11, 2020 • Paul Wilson

This Sunday we are excited to start a new series in 2 Samuel. The book tells the amazing story of David’s rise, fall, and restoration as king of Israel. The stories are truly epic! But David isn’t really the main character. God is. Join us as we see how God works through David’s life to reveal the King after God’s heart, and what that means for you.
