The Promise Bible Study

Updated Reading Schedule

Weeks Eleven & Twelve: Jesus Dies, Rises, and Fulfills the OT

August 15, 2021

In our final studies, we learn how Jesus fulfills God’s promise to rescue sinful people like you and me.

Week Ten: The Coming of Jesus

August 8, 2021

This week we finally meet the Promised Messiah, Jesus Christ! Our Bible Reading for this week may be more familiar to you than previous studies (and it may put you in the Christmas Spirit ). Most of all, in light of all we have seen from God’s Word up to this point, may your gain an even greater appreciation for our only Lord and Savior.

Week Eight: The Sacrificial Law

July 25, 2021

This week, we consider how the Old Testament sacrificial system points to the Promised Messiah. In the New Testament, we see that Jesus Christ alone fits this description of our Savior.

Week Seven: Eli & Ten Commandments

July 18, 2021

This week, we learn about the Old Testament Law (specifically the Ten Commandments) and the Old Testament priest. Both serve very important purposes, and ultimately, both point to Jesus Christ as our only hope for salvation.

Week Six: Saul & David

July 11, 2021

This week, we consider the first two kings of Israel. Although these men show signs of greatness and humility, they also demonstrate that they are clearly not God's Promised Messiah.

Week Five: Samson

July 4, 2021

We hope you took advantage of our scheduled "Catch-Up Week." For the next few days, we invite you to learn about Samson, a flawed deliverer who points us our sinless Savior, Jesus Christ.

Week Three: Moses & Joshua

June 20, 2021

This week, we look at the well-known heroes of the Bible, Moses and Joshua. Interestingly, both men are part of amazing rescue stories; however, neither proves worthy to be the Promised Rescuer of God's people. In your reading this week, consider how God consistently shows faithfulness and grace to His undeserving people.

Week Two: Noah & Abraham

June 13, 2021

This week, we jump around in our reading to consider the lives of Noah and Abraham. Although these men are greatly used by God, it's clear that neither is the Anointed Rescuer God promised to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15.

Week One: Creation & Fall

June 6, 2021
