If the Spirit is truly in control of our lives, we will desire the things of God more than the things of this world. Little by little, our sinful nature will no longer get to call the shots. This only happens if we learn to say “no” to the temptation of sin and run the other way toward faithfulness.

Many of us will selfishly try to take the reins in our lives, wanting to call the shots ourselves. However, the Bible calls us to let the Holy Spirit take control. When we do, we live in God’s direction for our lives. If we are seeking guidance, who better to provide it than God Himself?
