God’s church is in unity.  We are commanded to preserve that unity by remaining full of the Holy Spirit and God’s grace.  In this unity, God has put boundaries on how we relate to each other, especially to members of the opposite sex.  We need each other to finish this race; we don’t need to be tripped up by lust or improper emotional attachments. Nor do we need to “murder” each other in gossip.  Let’s keep the slate clean with each other so that unity can remain.
