Day 131 - Read Revelation 15-17

April 13, 2024 • Revelation 15—17

John saw the angels who conquered the beast. They were praising God. He saw seven angels with seven plagues. The angels were given seven bowls full of God’s wrath. Each angel poured the bowls of wrath, one at a time on those who worshiped the beast, and on the earth. This is the final wrath of God. The mountains were destroyed, and God remembered the sin of Babylon. The seventh bowl was poured out and large hailstones fell on the people. They cursed God. An angel showed John another vision. The vision told of Babylon, sexual sin and blasphemy, the power of Rome, and the destruction of earthly kingdoms. The prophesies of God were fulfilled, then the power of God overwhelmed the earthly kingdoms.

Day 29 - Read Genesis 49-50

May 22, 2024 • Genesis 49—50

Jacob called his sons to his side and gave each a blessing. He said Joseph would be set apart as the great descendant of Jacob. He commanded his sons to bury him where Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, and Leah were buried in Canaan. He laid back into the bed and died. Joseph received permission from Pharaoh to take his father to Canaan as he promised his father. Joseph, his brothers, and many servants and elders went to bury and mourn Jacob. Joseph’s brothers were concerned Joseph would seek revenge for their evil deeds. He comforted them and explained how God used their evil deeds to save many. Joseph lived to be 110.

Day 28 - Read Genesis 48

May 21, 2024 • Genesis 48

Jacob told Joseph of God’s blessings in giving him many descendants and land. Joseph took his sons to Jacob, and he blessed them. Jacob placed his right hand on Ephraim, and Joseph attempted to change his father’s hands because Manasseh was the first born. Jacob told Joseph that both sons would be great, but the younger son would be blessed beyond the older son. Jacob told Joseph that God would be with him and would take him again to the land of his fathers. He promised land to Joseph that he took from the Amorites in war.

Day 27 - Read Genesis 46-47

May 20, 2024 • Genesis 46—47

Jacob (Israel) left Canaan with all his household and journeyed to Egypt. He offered sacrifices to God in Beersheba. God spoke to Jacob in a dream and reminded him of the promise He made to Jacob. God told Jacob that He would bring his people back to the land He promised. Pharaoh told Joseph to offer his family the best land in Goshen to tend their flocks. Jacob gave Pharaoh a blessing. The people of Egypt and Canaan gave all their money, their livestock, and their land for food during the famine. They eventually offered themselves in servitude to Pharaoh for food. The priests were the only exception because they were provided a portion of food from Pharaoh. Jacob made Joseph promise to bury him outside of Egypt with his fathers.
