Day 37 - Read Exodus 13-14

God told Moses all firstborn of Israel was to be consecrated and the Passover was to be recognized annually. The Feast of Unleavened Bread would be a remembrance of God’s fulfilled promises to Israel. God led Israel with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Pharaoh’s heart changed again, and he pursued the people of Israel. An angel of the Lord and the pillar of cloud was between the Egyptians and Israel. Moses stretched his hand over the sea and God separated the water as a wall. The people of Israel passed through the sea on dry land. Moses stretched his hand over the sea, and the water returned, overtaking Pharaoh’s army. The people feared the Lord and believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

Day 94 - Read Deuteronomy 13-14

July 26, 2024 • Deuteronomy 13—14

Israel was warned that false prophets would attempt to lead them away from God to worship unknown gods. Anyone who attempted to draw the people of Israel from God were to be destroyed along with their possessions. God instructed His people on clean and unclean food. He instructed His people to tithe, taking the offering to the place of worship designated by God. They were to present their offering, eat according to God’s Law, and providing the required portion of the tithe to the Levites who served God’s place of worship.

Day 93 - Read Deuteronomy 11-12

July 25, 2024 • Deuteronomy 11—12

Moses charged Israel to obey God and remember the great things He did in Egypt and on their journey to the promised land. Moses described the promised land as a good land that would provide for the needs of Israel. He charged them to share the goodness of God with their children at all times and to teach them to hold fast to God’s Law, and they would be blessed. If they chose to turn from God, they would be cursed. Israel was instructed to seek the place to worship God once they possessed the land. They were to destroy the idols and altars built by their enemies for the worship of their gods. Israel was commanded to worship God alone, according to God’s instructions alone.

Day 92 - Read Deuteronomy 9-10

July 24, 2024 • Deuteronomy 9—10

God confirmed His promises to go before Israel and conquer their enemies. God warned Israel not to become prideful by thinking they were deserving or that they were possessing the land because of their righteousness. Moses reminded Israel of their consistent turning away from God and the grace and mercy shown by God toward them. Moses recalled the tablets with the Law written on them, and the new tablets God gave to replace those that were broken. Israel was commanded to love, fear, and obey God. His people were chosen by Him above all people, and they were to serve Him as their one and only God.
