Day 133 - Read Revelation 21-22

April 15, 2024 • Revelation 21—22

John saw a vision of “a new heaven and a new earth”. God’s dwelling place was with His people, and those who were not faithful were cast into the lake of fire. One of the angels with the seven bowls took John to a mountain and showed him the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming out of heaven from God. John described its beauty and size. It was a great and beautiful place prepared for those whose names were in the Lamb’s book of life. The curse of man was lifted. There was no darkness, and they saw God’s face. The angel told John to share the written words of the visions because God would be coming soon. The Spirit warned against anyone adding or taking away from the prophesy of the scroll. Anyone who did would be punished.

Day 15 - Read Genesis 25-26

May 8, 2024 • Genesis 25—26

Abraham gave all he had to Isaac. Isaac and Rebekah had twins named Esau and Jacob. Isaac loved Esau and Rebekah loved Jacob. Esau was a hunter and Jacob was a quiet man who dwelled in tents. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for food. He did not value his birthright which included the blessings of his father. Isaac settled in Gerar. He told the people that Rebekah was his sister for fear they would kill him and take her. She was a beautiful woman. Abimelech, king of the Philistines, discovered Rebekah was Isaac’s wife. He confronted Isaac, then issued a warning that they were not to be harmed. God blessed Isaac and made him a powerful man. Abimelech sent him away and later made a covenant with him to insure peace between them.

Day 14 - Read Genesis 24

May 7, 2024 • Genesis 24

Abraham wanted Isaac to have a wife from his people. He charged his servant to bring a bride for Isaac from his kinsmen. Isaac was not to leave the land God gave Abraham to find a wife. His servant went to the city of Nahor and waited by the well for women to draw water in the evening. The servant prayed for God to give him success in his search. Before he finished praying, Rebekah went to the well. He asked her for a drink. She responded as requested and provided water to his camels. She took him to her home, then he asked permission to take her to Isaac, and the family agreed. The servant and his men stayed the night before returning with Rebekah. Isaac took Rebekah as his wife and was comforted.

Day 13 Read Genesis 22-23

May 6, 2024 • Genesis 22—23

God tested Abraham by telling him to prepare his son Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham followed God’s command and prepared the sacrifice. Abraham trusted God, even when he did not understand God’s plan. God waited till everything was in place for the sacrifice and provided a ram in place of Isaac. God blessed Abraham because of his faithfulness. Sarah died at the age of 127 at Hebron, in Canaan. The Hittites offered Abraham a place of his choice to bury Sarah. Abraham chose land owned by Ephron and offered to buy the land at its value. Ephron offered the land to Abraham as a gift, but Abraham insisted on purchasing the land. He gave Ephron 400 shekels of silver and possessed the land to bury Sarah.
