The Honor Principle

Video 3

When we honor those God sends, we in turn honor God. In this lesson, John teaches that there are three types of people we’ll encounter—leaders, peers, and entrusted ones. The honor principle applies to each of these relational dynamics. As we honor on all levels, we’ll receive the rewards God wants to release through others.

Intro to Group Leading

As you get ready to lead your group, Ashton & Amanda take a moment to reveal the primary goal of leading groups, as well as a few things to be mindful of as you prepare to lead others.

Divine Rewards

Rewards are God’s idea. In this lesson, John reveals that God is a giver. And just like any good father, He loves to reward His children. When we know God is a rewarder, it will motivate us to live a life that pleases Him—positioning us to receive His gifts. As you lead people in general, and your group, God rewards us when we lead well. Now, being rewarded is not the primary goal -- but we do need to recognize that rewards in God's Kingdom are given so we can more effectively establish his Kingdom in our homes, relationships, and even the groups we lead.

Honor All

When we live an honorable life, we’ll leave a lasting impression upon all those we come across. In this lesson, John shows that people won’t always remember what you accomplished, but they will always remember how you made them feel. And that’s the very essence of an honorable life—placing value upon others.
