The Scriptures caution against false teachings that distort the truth about life and death. The belief in an eternally burning hell or the innate immortality of the soul can lead to misconceptions about God's justice and mercy. The Word of God reminds us that eternal life is a gift received through faith in Christ, not a natural state of being.

In Psalm 130:1-2, the psalmist cries out, "Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications." This heartfelt plea reflects a deep sense of desperation and a sincere call for God's attention. The psalmist acknowledges deep distress or trouble, crying out to the Lord for help and mercy. It is a beautiful reminder that even in our lowest moments, we can pray to God, knowing He hears us and is attentive to our needs. The psalmist's words inspire us to pour our hearts before the Lord, trusting in His unfailing love and compassion.
