03 - Jehovah: Nissi & Rapha

2 Samuel 6:1-8

May 7, 2017 • Pastor Ronald H. Gann

If God’s name is as wonderful as it is incomprehensible (Judges 13); if it is as inescapable as it is powerful (Genesis 16), then it is as holy as it is sacred (2 Samuel 6; Leviticus 10). In fact, so holy is God’s name, whether referred to as YAHWEH or ADONAI, or the all-encompassing title of JEHOVAH, that God will not and cannot tolerate it being profaned. And two such names that God holds sacred are JEHOVAH NISSI—the God who is our victory banner and JEHOVAH RAPHA—the God who is our Healer.

In this sermon series, Pastor Ronald H. Gann dissects the more popular names of God in the Old Testament, and shows how God's nature and attributes are defined by the titles ascribed to Him.
