38 - The Parable of the Light

Luke 8:16-21

December 1, 2024 • Pastor Ronald H. Gann • Luke 8:16–21

Jesus Christ, who claimed in John 8:12 to be the light of the world, also calls on his followers to be little lights in the world at large. That is to say, if Christ is the overhead lamp, we are to be his night-lights. If he’s the moon, then we’re called to be his shining stars. Believers are called to illuminate to others the truth of God by our behavior and the manner in which we conduct ourselves. Good soil produces good trees. And good trees produce good fruit. The light of the Savior living in us is meant to give light to others so that they may see our good deeds and glorify God (Matt. 5:16).
