For many Christians, when they think of fasting they think of cultural stereotypes, such as the self-righteous Pharisees or ascetic monks (or even Gandhi and a myriad of other religions that fast for piety or political purposes). But the very fact that God’s Word contains 92 passages that mention this spiritual discipline is not something can just be brushed away as irrelevant or impractical for our spiritual lives. If you want to take your spiritual life to new heights—that is, if you want to get serious about your faith—then we should give serious thought about the spiritual discipline of fasting. In this sermon series, Pastor Ronald H. Gann provides an exercise routine to help Christians train effectively for the Christian race.
