The altar on center stage this morning is the altar found on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18. Israel had abandoned the One True God and shown their allegiance to the pagan god Baal. Elijah was on a spiritual high with God. But SPIRITUAL HIGHS are often met with SPIRITUAL LOWS. This message looks into a dark time in Elijah's life and encourages us to learn how to respond to "spiritual lows".

The word altar in Hebrew means "to slaughter." This message gives a foundation for our "Altars" series by placing our focus on how we are called to be a living sacrifice for God.
