True Compassion

He is the King who offers us Sonship, the inheritance the kingdom, and most importantly, His love. In Luke 15 Jesus rebukes but also encourages us with three parables of something lost, something found, and great rejoicing. This gospel is so countercultural and so beautiful!

But, if you want joy and peace and truth, then this real discipleship is what we have to accept. This is the real discipleship of renouncing our lives so that Christ can be formed in us.

A Table for the Rest of Us

In this passage, Luke’s Gospel continues to display the upside-down nature of the Kingdom of God and how it affects our lives now. Just as the Kingdom promotes radical hospitality, unbarred by social structures of this world, so too should the Christian’s hospitality extend outwards, inviting all to come to the table, to feast, and to join the family of God.
