This week’s lesson is entitled “The Temple Was Completed” (Ezra chapters 4-6). It’s the story of how God once again did mighty works, including moving the heart of a pagan king, to help his people finish the second temple in Jerusalem after they returned from Babylonian exile. This lesson provides a wonderful opportunity to help kids understand why we don’t need a temple to worship God anymore and the beauty of 1 Corinthians 3:16: “Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” These are amazing gospel truths that we’ll discuss this week at a level that kids can digest. I encourage you to find a moment this weekend to sit down with your kids and watch the “Kids Online” family worship video. Don’t forget to take some time and talk about it together as a family using the questions below! TALK ABOUT IT What’s your favorite work project to do at home or for someone else? Why do you think God wanted his people to finish the temple? Where can we worship God? Where does God’s presence dwell now? What does it mean to have God’s Spirit living inside you? (Hint: Mr. Josh helped us understand this!)
