The Aaron Family

South Africa

Hello Churches and praying friends, Things are moving along at a fast pace here in South Africa. In our last letter, we wrote about the place God gave us to move into and begin our church. In the middle of May, we were able to move in completely and start furnishing the place. Another Baptist church in a different area donated chairs, tables, and a pulpit, which was a great blessing! We had our opening service on June 5th, which was also Mercy's fifth birthday. We had some missionary friends come help us with the service that day and a good turnout from around here. There were about 30 people here. After the service, we had a small birthday party for Mercy, and everyone enjoyed the occasion to get to know each other and fellowship. We have been encouraged by several faithful people who have come to every service since we opened. We have a good faithful group of 10 to 15 people faithfully coming to our Thursday night Bible studies as well. I am teaching through a foundational discipleship series, and the people are excitedly learning and growing. We have been going out soul winning together as a family all day on Saturdays, and we have seen several people come to church because of it. We have also been able to share the Gospel several times. Two instances particularly stand out. The first was just after our first church service. I was able to talk to a man named Ricardo, and he received Jesus as his Saviour. I rejoiced, not only because of his salvation, but also because a Hindu man, Benny, was standing beside me the whole time and got to hear the whole thing. Benny has been coming to several church services, and we are praying for his salvation. He has been a huge help in getting us settled in our new area. Please pray with us that he will see his own need for Jesus as his Saviour soon. Then, a few weeks ago, my Landlord asked me to give a word and pray at his brother's funeral. I did not know his brother, but according to the testimony of his family, he was saved. About 65 people were at the funeral, and I was able to share the hope of Heaven with them and go through the Gospel. Several people told me afterward that they were blessed by the message, and I got some prospects through that opportunity. I spoke again at a final memorial event for him and gave the gospel to a group of men. One of the men asked me to visit his home later and try to share the same message with his son. We have two teen boys who have been coming with their families, and we are planning to have a youth class for them on Saturday afternoons. They have already said they have some friends who would like to come as well. Our hope is to see these young people saved and trained to serve the Lord. We want to give them a place to connect, meet Christian friends, and get involved, and we would eventually like to take them soul winning on Saturday afternoons to train them. Please be in prayer for these teenagers. I am very excited at how fast the Lord is growing this church; however, with a growing church comes growing needs. One of the most important needs our church currently has is a baptistry. We are currently looking into options for that and will purchase one when God supplies the funds. We would also like to purchase some playground equipment for the kids to play on before and after the services so their parents can fellowship. Lastly, we are looking into getting some youth activities and games to help promote the teen service. Not everyone can help financially, but everyone can pray that God will continue to bless the ministry here. God has been good in taking care of our every need in His time and we certainly have the faith that He will continue to do so. With that being said If you or your church feel led by God to help in any of these projects, you can do so by sending your gift to: International Baptist World Missions 1729 Gross Rd.
