A priest was a man called by God to represent Him to a watching world. In today's world, clothed with the righteousness of Christ we are to be ambassadors for Christ and intentionally about raising up the next generation for Christ.
As God renews His covenant with the Israelites after the worship of the golden calf, He provides a very clear path forward. This path would be would be marked with a clear trust and devotion to Yahweh as their one and only God.
