Sprouts Walk Through the Old Testament

Elementary (K-6th)

Lesson 20: Assyria / Kingdom of Judah

September 13, 2020 • Pastor Peter Chung

"Sprouts Walk Through the Old Testament" is a 20-week online resource geared generally for the 5th and 6th grade class, but the worksheets and activities will also have things for the youngest kids to work on as well. Here is how to best use the resource: 1) Preview the video on Saturday night. Also preview and look over the worksheet your kids will be given for Sunday. Depending on the age of your child, you may need to adjust and modify the lesson. Some discussion questions you may need to skip altogether. 2) The "pre-video discussion" is a warm-up exercise we encourage you to do with your kids before you plop them down in front of a screen (thus the need for preview). 3) Use the 20-25 minute video as either a supplement or a substitute for your children during or around your Sunday worship time. The worksheets will also be used for note-taking for your children. This is up to your discretion and may need to be modified according to your family's needs. 4) Go over the "discussion" questions with your children after the sermon in a Bible study/small group format. Some of the questions may be hard for you to answer. The point of the exercise is not to give your children all the right answers but to point to what the Word says about all things related to our lives. 5) Review the memory verse with your child(ren). We will do this as long as we are not physically able to meet.
