Ephesians 6:7-8 (10/1/20)

Working For a Reward

October 1, 2020 • Benham Brothers

* Work loses its meaning if you don’t do it for a reward.
* Vs 7-8 - God is a rewarder and He made us to want reward.
* Philippians 4:17 - “…I want you to receive a reward for your kindness.”
* Colossians 3:23-24 - “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…you will receive…a reward.”
* Don’t believe the lie that we should be willing to do things for the Lord without a hope for reward.
* When you work “as unto the Lord” you are making Him your boss.
* What would we say about a boss who didn’t reward his employees?
* An entrepreneur is someone who sees a person with a problem and slides in between to bring a solution “FOR A REWARD.”
* Satan knows this - it’s why he doesn’t want us to treat our work as worship.
* When we work for tangible reward only we lose out on the intangible.
* When we work for both we get both.
* We’ll get fulfillment attached to finances.
* Significance attached to success.
* Meaning attached to money.
* Impact attached to income.
* Without the hope of a tangible reward we won’t have a context to evangelize and disciple.
* Our workplace defines the context for discipleship and evangelism.
