Most of us have had times in our lives where we believe that we've done all the right things and yet we've gotten none of the right results. Our life hurts in ways that don't make sense, despite our best efforts to please God. Its in moments like that where we want to COMPLAIN to God, but honestly... that feels wrong. Am I allowed to complain to him ABOUT him? In this sermon, we'll learn the skill and power of lament as we watch God's people pour out their honest pain to the God they thought they could trust who seems to have let them down.
Track 27
August 11, 2024 • Joey Tomassoni • Psalm 27
We all go through times in life where the pressure is mounting, hope seems lost, and our world feels like it’s on fire. As we participate in God’s renewal project in the world by making passionate, maturing followers of Jesus, the question arises, “what gets us through?” In David’s mind, it’s “to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.” Why is that and what does it mean? Join us this Sunday as we dive in to find out.
Track 90
August 4, 2024 • Pat Linnell • Psalm 90
Life is awesome and life is hard. I’m seeing this truth show up in my marriage, raising teenagers, and making a living. Because of that it seems like I’m asking God for help and wisdom almost every day. Off the heels of last week’s sermon about “praying the Bible,” we turn to three simple prayers from Psalm 90 to help soak in the awesome and rise to each new challenge.

We can all agree that Prayer is vitally important in the life of a disciple - however, have you ever been honest enough to admit that sometimes prayer is... well... boring? Hard to do? If you've ever struggled to get traction with meaningful prayer, I'm hoping the mindset shift we will discuss on Sunday can help you (like it has helped me and many others). See you then!

July 14, 2024 • Mark Norman • Psalm 56
We have a special guest visiting and bringing the word. Mark Norman is a longtime friend of Bay Area and was the Lead Pastor of Grace Community Church, our sister church in Columbia, for 27 years. He and Greg have been friends and ministry partners for over 20 years, and when Mark retired, he and his wife Lu began attending here. Mark has other ministry experience in the ministry he and his wife started where they mentor young pastors, and for the last 20 years Mark has served on the National board of Search, a ministry of lifestyle evangelism and discipleship to adults. We all have songs that immediately transport us - to a place, to a time or to a memory. Music has this incredible ability to stir our hearts and shape our souls, and that's why the longest book in the Bible is a collection of songs: the Psalms! Join us this Sunday as we kick off a Summer series in the Psalms and find out how the people of Israel used their travel playlist to achieve a quiet soul in the midst of the chaos of life.
