Tuesday in the Passion Week had been a long day. There were debates and pressure from religious leaders. You would think that the last thing the disciples needed at the end of the day was a history lesson. But that is what Jesus does. Today Dr. John presents the words of Jesus on Mt. Olive. Jesus reviews what has been and points to what will be. While there is much that could be frightening and difficult to hear, hope and confidence remain. Jesus assures His disciples, and us, that there is nothing that can disturb His sovereing plan and command. In a word, Jesus win!

Much of our life is out of our control. We try to maintain order in the house, in traffic and with the weather, but our power is limited. Jesus suffered no such limitations. Jesus orchestrated each day towards His glorious purpose. His life was given, not taken. Last things matter. Final words and final deeds. The last week of Jesus' earthly life is filled with eternal purpose. The Gospels focus on these seven days with forty percent of their pages. In others words, this week matters. In this series of messages, Dr. John will walk us through Jesus' last earthly week. Come journey day by day with Jesus. We will arrive at an empty tomb with hearts filled with gratitude and praise.
