Ephesians

Live by God's Power

Stand Firm, Pray, & Proclaim

June 18, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

God is seeking to give us hope, grace, love, and faith. Yet we fight against real forces that try to keep us from intimacy with God and each other. Paul invites us to stand firm, pray for one another, and to proclaim the gospel fearlessly.

Slavery and the Scriptures

June 11, 2017 • Tim Gaydos

In our post-Christian society, many have a hard time trusting Scripture because of certain appearances that it permits evil practices. In Ephesians 6, Paul approaches the subject of slavery. What is he referring to? Is he condoning it?

Inextricably Linked & Transformed

June 4, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

We all are children to someone. Many of us are also fathers, mothers, or hope to be parents one day. In Christ, we are called to love our parents and children, yet we are not defined by them alone. As God renews us, we live into a new story where genuine love, forgiveness, obedience, and worship can transform generations.

To One Another

May 28, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

Context is critical as we see Paul unpack the revolutionary idea of 'submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ' in the context of marriage.

"Wake Up!"

May 14, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

There is nothing more jarring than a burst of light breaking through the dark. Their is no greater form of love than self-sacrifice. These realities are counter to the status-quo of our world. The Apostle Paul invites the Ephesians (and us) to walk in light and love in these ways. To follow Jesus beyond a world of darkness, and finding our identity in pleasing our own selfish desires. To have Christ's light shine on us and to imitate God in lovingly giving our lives that other might find life. Are you walking in light? Are you living in love?

Honesty is More Than a Policy

May 7, 2017 • Tim Gaydos

Honesty is the bedrock of the Christian faith. Being honest with ourselves, God and others is the lifeblood of healthy relationships. Listen to this sermon to understand how this plays out.

Gifts

April 9, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

God offers each of us His grace to be our salvation and His power living through us. These gifts can transform our hearts, lives, community, and city. Too often we never use these gifts, or selfishly keep them to our self. Ephesians 4 tells us that God has made you to serve and equip others for service that builds Christ's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Are you trusting God with the gifts you've been given? Are you sharing those gifts with your community and neighbors?

A Worthy Calling

April 2, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

What is your calling? Is it your job, career, or success? What if it is much deeper than that? Paul challenges the Ephesians to be humble, gentle, patient, and to bear with one another in love. To live a life worthy of the calling they have received from Jesus. To live into their new life in Him by pursuing unity and being peacemakers. Are you one with others? What keeps you from loving commitment to others? Where do you distance yourself out of fear of being hurt? Where do you choose selfishness over love? Pastor Tyler Gorsline explores these questions and more in this sermon on Ephesians 4:1-6.

In To Maturity

March 26, 2017 • Tim Gaydos

Do you ever feel like your faith is immature? Believe it or not, the Apostle Paul did too at times. In Ephesians 3, we see a calling to a new life in Jesus that grows up in faith. A life of love that puts away being easily deceived, self-centered, and caring only about personal gain. Watch this sermon by Pastor Tim Gaydos to hear more about God's call for us all to grow in knowing who we are in Christ.

Experiencing Jesus

March 19, 2017 • Tim Gaydos

It’s one thing to know about Jesus in principle/theory but Paul prays in this passage that we would truly experience Jesus in our inner being made alive in Christ.

Known and Free

March 12, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

What holds you captive? Paul views himself as a prisoner of Christ. A man called to make God's goodness known alongside the churches he serves. To come to give his life like Jesus did, and not to be served. Yet, many of our lives are divided between our desire to love God and others, and our desire to live attached to things that imprison us. God knows this is our challenge. Watch this sermon to hear more about God's incredible invite to freedom and setting others free through Christ's love and grace.

The Wall of Hostility

March 5, 2017 • Tim Gaydos

Division is not new. In Paul's time, the Ephesian believers struggled with disunity between the Jews and Gentiles in their community. Paul gives a vision for how they are united in Jesus. This struggle is so real for us today. We disdain those who are different than us and define ourselves by our differences. Watch this sermon to catch a vision for life united in the one person who can bring us together and heal our relationships; Jesus Christ.

Where?

February 26, 2017 • Tyler Gorsline

Where are you seeking to find life? Ephesians 2 calls us to look at where we've been, where we are, and where we are going. God's grace meets us in the collision course of all of those places and gives us the faith in Jesus who saves us. A faith that also calls us to live lives of good works that transform our world from the inside out.
