Advent Week 4

Fr. Pontifex shares an intimate story of an experience he had in prayer as a seminarian to highlight the fact that Jesus is Emmanuel (God with us). Jesus being with us is exactly what we celebrate at Christmas time. God became man to be with us, not simply in the past but in the present and in the future. He can rest assured that the King of Peace will never let us go. Merry Christmas!

Advent Week 2

The Advent season is time for us to slow down, pray and to seek to vigilant for the coming of Jesus Christ.  Our cues from secular culture can easily move us in the opposite direction, becoming more frantic and materialistic.  We may feel the need to work hard to give gifts to our loved ones and that is a good thing as long as we realize that the greatest gifts that we can give them are to be found in our communion with the Lord.
