The Lord was with him
Episode 1300 • Angus Buchan
Whatever you may be going through at the moment, don’t worry about it but rather present it to God and He will see you through. Joseph’s life fell apart when his brothers sold him off into slavery but God was with Joseph and he prospered to the point where he became the most powerful man in Egypt next to Pharaoh. He went on to forgive his brothers and be reunited with his family.
Don't be haughty
Episode 1299 • Angus Buchan
In this message Angus reminds us that Jesus came to save the Jews and when they rejected Him, He invited the gentiles into the Kingdom of God. So whether you are a Jew or a gentile you qualify for salvation through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Don’t ever look down on others or think that Christianity is not for you but only for losers or people who need some kind of crutch to cope in life. Jesus is for everyone.
Your goal in life
Episode 1298 • Angus Buchan
Angus asks the question, "What is your goal in life?" If you are striving after the things of this life like money or power or material possessions, then you are wasting your time and increasing your stress and anxiety because you can’t take anything with you when you die. The only thing that should matter to you is your position in Christ, so spend more time in reading the Word and praying to the Father and He will promote you and you will know peace and blessings and eternal life hereafter.
The fear of God
Episode 1297 • Angus Buchan
Job was a man who feared God and nothing was more important to him than his walk with the Lord. Even when he lost everything in this world and suffered unimaginable hardship, he refused to turn his back on God. Eventually God healed him and restored him to much more than he was before. When the going gets tough and it seems like you’re in an impossible situation, that’s when you need to stop trying in your own strength and put your faith in Him.
An ordinary man
Episode 1296 • Angus Buchan
Elijah the Tishbite was an ordinary man. He had the Spirit of the Lord upon him and challenged the Jews to live a righteous life. Even today, God uses ordinary people to accomplish His will. You don’t have to be specially trained or educated before you can step out for the Lord. You only need to have faith and believe that He is God and can do anything.
Personal testimony
Episode 1295 • Angus Buchan
Your personal testimony is more powerful than any sermon you can ever preach. Acts 22 tells us about when Paul was on his way to Damascus to persecute the Christians there and Jesus met with him. Paul’s Damascus road experience changed his life forever in the most dramatic way. Share your testimony and God will do the rest.
Confession
Episode 1293 • Angus Buchan
Do you feel that your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling and not reaching God’s ears, then Angus says that maybe you have got unconfessed sin in your life. The Bible tells us in James chapter 5 that we must confess our sins so that we may be healed. We are all sinners and need forgiveness, so why not confess your sins today and be made whole.
Imaginations
Episode 1292 • Angus Buchan
We need to be careful of what we fill our minds with. Angus says that if we are always watching the news and other TV shows or reading books which do not edify us then we are filling our mind with garbage and that’s how we will respond when faced with life’s problems. Far better to concentrate on things of the Lord because out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.
Do not procrastinate
Episode 1291 • Angus Buchan
In this message Angus warns us of the dangers of procrastination or leaving for tomorrow what should be done today. In the Gospel of Mark chapter 4 we read about the response of the disciples when Jesus called them to follow Him, they immediately stopped what they were doing and followed Him. Jesus honoured and blessed them and they went on to enjoy the most exciting and fulfilled life you can ever imagine.
The Great Shepherd
Episode 1290 • Angus Buchan
In the Middle East, the shepherd leads his sheep from the front, and calls his sheep by name. The sheep follow the shepherd. Jesus calls us the sheep of His pasture. We need to know the Good Shepherd who protects us from the wolves in the world. Put your trust in Him.
