Faith and action go hand in hand. Spending time in God's word will fill us with faith and being filled with faith will spur us into action and obedience. Acts 14:8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked.

What is prayer?

Episode 957 • Angus Buchan

Angus explains the power of prayer and how we should pray as it says in Matthew 6:5-6 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."

The Good Confession

Episode 956 • Angus Buchan

People are imperfect and will disappoint us - but Jesus never will! We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus - the author and perfector of our faith. 1 Timothy 6:11-12 "But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses."

Episode 955 • Angus Buchan

Job 28:28 "And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’” Proverbs 3:13-17 "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, In her left-hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace."

God's Kingdom

Episode 954 • Angus Buchan

When we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and keep walking towards Him, all the small things that are consuming us will fade away. Just like in the bible where it says in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Little Things

Episode 951 • Angus Buchan

A personal relationship with the carpenter from Nazareth is what we were made for and is worth travailing for. Isaiah 66:7-8 “Before she was in labor, she gave birth; Before her pain came, She delivered a male child. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once?"

Sermons in shoes

Father God is wanting us to be walking examples of himself. What a privilege it is to be people of the way! Daniel 6:3 "Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm."

Seen Jesus

Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”

Keep to God's Word

Episode 948 • Angus Buchan

Angus implores us to keep to the word of God - there is life in the Word! For the word of God is alive and active. 1 Timothy 4:6-10 "If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe."

Episode 947 • Angus Buchan

Angus teaches us that where there is unity God commands a blessing like it says in Psalm 133 - "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore."

A Heart For The Lost

The Gift

Episode 943 • Angus Buchan

Today we are encouraged to persevere in the Word and in the gifts that God has given us. As it says in 1 Timothy 4:12-16: "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you."
