Freedom

Episode 391

Angus Buchan

Reading from Galatians 5:1-6, Angus reminds us that Christ has made us free! When our focus is on Jesus we have liberty in spite of all worldly cares and events around us. When we are saved we walk in faith. We need not be a slave to the law. Faith in God is going to save you, nothing else. Our faith in Jesus Christ gets us to Heaven. You will never earn your way to Heaven. Our works do not get us to Heaven. We have been saved by grace and when you fall in love with Jesus, you don’t want to sin and offend God. If we love God, our actions must not deny Him. Freedom comes from faith in Jesus!

More from Grassroots

All nations

Acts 8:7, Isaiah 53, John 1:1, 1 John 5:7, Zephaniah 3:10

John 1:1. 1 John 5:7. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Zephaniah 3:10. Acts 8:27. Uncle Angus talks about the Ethiopian eunuch who had travelled to Israel to worship the Lord, and Phillip who told him about Jesus Christ. Isaiah 53. God has put eternity into the hearts of all men. God is calling all mankind to salvation.

Personal testimony

Hebrews 13:8, Colossians 1:27, Acts 6:10, Acts 10:15

Hebrews 13:8. There is nothing more powerful than a personal testimony. Acts 6:10, 15. Steven became the first martyr as he testified about the power of God. People are not interested in what we have to say, they are interested in what He, Jesus Christ, the Word of God has to say. Colossians 1:27. When they looked at Stephen they they thought that they were looking at an angel, because they could see Christ in him. When Jesus speaks, we need to listen up.

Confession

1 John 1:9, Psalm 32:5

We need to understand that if we belong to Jesus then we are of those people who say sorry if we have done something wrong. God is not looking for good people, but for godly people. Psalm 32:5. 1 John 1:9. God has given us a way out. There is immense power and freedom in saying sorry. The devil doesn't want us to confess our sins because it sets us free.
