Writing in the sand

Episode 418

Angus Buchan

Sometimes we feel aggrieved and want to take revenge but the bible teaches us to turn the other cheek and forgive. It’s difficult because our natural man wants to retaliate when we get angry. When we give our lives to the Lord, His Holy Spirit lives within us and therefore we should be swift to hear and slow to speak. Angry words can cause more damage than a beating so always try to live in peace with those around you.

More from Grassroots

All nations

Acts 8:7, Isaiah 53, John 1:1, 1 John 5:7, Zephaniah 3:10

John 1:1. 1 John 5:7. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Zephaniah 3:10. Acts 8:27. God has put eternity into the hearts of all men. God is calling all mankind to salvation.

Personal testimony

Hebrews 13:8, Colossians 1:27, Acts 6:10, Acts 10:15

Hebrews 13:8. There is nothing more powerful than a personal testimony. Acts 6:10, 15. Steven became the first martyr as he testified about the power of God. People are not interested in what we have to say, they are interested in what He, Jesus Christ, the Word of God has to say. Colossians 1:27. When they looked at Stephen they they thought that they were looking at an angel, because they could see Christ in him. When Jesus speaks, we need to listen up.

Confession

1 John 1:9, Psalm 32:5

We need to understand that if we belong to Jesus then we are of those people who say sorry if we have done something wrong. God is not looking for good people, but for godly people. Psalm 32:5. 1 John 1:9. God has given us a way out. There is immense power and freedom in saying sorry. The devil doesn't want us to confess our sins because it sets us free.
