Meeting in Jesus Country
Israel Tour 2023
Garden Tomb, Jerusalem
October 30, 2023 • Angus Buchan • John 20:1
HE IS RISEN! We visited the Garden Tomb, and it is empty! We had communion in the garden and made a covenant with God, that we would stand and be counted, have meals around the table with our families and go out and tell others about Jesus.
Bethesda, Jerusalem
October 25, 2023 • Angus Buchan
We had a very intimate and special time at the site of the pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the paralysed man. Uncle Angus shared the stories of miraculous healings from other meetings, and then we prayed for people to receive physical, spiritual and emotional healing.
Tower of David, Jerusalem
October 23, 2023 • Angus Buchan
David killed the lion and the bear and conquered Goliath, going on to become a mighty king of Israel. But, in one moment, he fell and became an adulterer, liar and murderer. Despite this, David was redeemed because his heart was open to God. Uncle Angus challenges us to keep our eyes on Jesus and be mighty men and women for God. SPECIAL FEATURE - A spontaneous wedding ceremony!
Christ Church, Jerusalem
October 18, 2023 • Angus Buchan • Psalm 4:1
"The common touch of humanity that gives the world true kinship, is not joy, but sorrow. Gold is partial to only a few, but iron is universal". Uncle Angus shares a passage from the famous Scottish minister, George Matheson's book. It is when we suffer that we get iron in our faith - strength to do great things for Jesus. Through hardships we can understand what others are going through.
Garden of Gethsemane
October 5, 2023 • Angus Buchan • Matthew 26:48, Matthew 26:69, 1 John 1:9
We visited the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed to His Father and was betrayed by Judas before He was arrested and crucified. We asked God to forgive us if we have betrayed others and forgive those who have betrayed us.
Caesarea Hippodrome
October 2, 2023 • Angus Buchan • Acts 21:10, John 14:6, Acts 27:1
We got on our knees in the dust at the Caesarea Hippodrome and repented for not counting for God. Paul, the apostle, was shipwrecked, imprisoned and eventually martyred for his faith. We need to stand up and do what God asks us to do, and to tell others about Jesus.
Peter's Landing - Galilee
September 26, 2023 • Angus Buchan • John 21, John 15:17, John 10:10, 1 Corinthians 2:9, Matthew 12:30
Peter was commissioned by Jesus on the banks of the Sea of Galilee. After denying Him three times, Peter is asked by Jesus to feed His sheep. We took a moment on the shores of the lake to be anointed and commissioned to go out and tell others about Jesus.
Betabara - Baptism Session 1
September 20, 2023 • Angus Buchan • Matthew 3:13–17, Mark 16:15
Jesus was baptised in the Jordan River by his cousin, John. We had the incredible opportunity to be baptised in the same river. When we are baptised, we emerge as a new creation through Jesus. The old things have passed away and all things become new.
Old Jaffa - Simon the Tanner's House
September 19, 2023 • Angus Buchan • Acts 10
Before the busses arrived, we had the opportunity to visit Simon the tanners house in Old Jaffa (Joppa). Hear the story from Acts 10 and know that God shows no favouritism, He hears all our prayers and sent His Son to die for everyone.
