Flattery

Episode 1524

Angus points out that there is a difference between flattery and encouragement. Flattery is not good for us because it feeds our ego and makes us think that we are great, when the truth is that we are nothing without Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:12 teaches us to be careful of thinking that we are standing on our own when in fact, without Jesus, we are in danger of falling. So always be truthful and encourage someone to greater heights but never flatter them with empty words.

Forgive

If Jesus Christ Who died on the cross for us says that we must forgive, then surely we must forgive others. We must not have anything in our hearts that will block our relationship with God. We need to exercise grace, undeserved favour, as God has done with us.

Born again

John 3:3–4, John 3:7

John 3:3-4, 7. Unless a person is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. This means that our lives need to change based on a decision we make to believe in and follow Jesus. It is a 180 degree turn in the opposite direction from where we were going. There needs to be change.

The Time Keeper

Isaiah 38:5, Isaiah 38:8

The Lord is the ultimate Time Keeper. Isaiah 38:5, 8. God gave king Hezekiah an extra fifteen years of life. God also caused time to go backwards by ten degrees on the sun dial. He is the God of the impossible, the Miracle worker. We cannot limit God.
