But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness."

Angus teaches us to respect and be kind to the people around us. 1 Timothy 5:1-3 "Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters. Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her."

The same God that did amazing miracles in the bible wants to show us extraordinary things in our lives as we enter a covenant with Him. Matthew 8:23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
Waiting On God

Angus encourages us to be obediant to the words of Jesus in the New Testiment. He prays for us to be able to forgive people who have hurt us, and move on in freedom. Matthew 5:38-42 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away."
Don't Look Back

Today we are encouraged to keep on running the race that has been set for us. Once God has set us free and forgiven us from something in our past we mustn't turn back to our past ways. Keep running!
