Chili Cook-Off Contestant Registration

Part of Anderson Community Day 2024

November 9, 2024
11:00am - 2:00pm

Back for its second year is the Anderson Community Chili Cook-Off presented by Anderson Community Day. Do you think you have what it takes to whip up the best chili in Anderson? If so, we invite you to register and put your recipe up against your friends from all around the community.

The contest will once again be divided into three sections: mild, spicy, and variety (any soup or chowder that is not considered traditional chili).

Location, Equipment, and Supplies: Cooks are expected to provide their own equipment for keeping the chili warm (crock pots) and serving utensils. Tables, tasting cups, napkins and spoons will be provided to the cooks by the The Community Center @ AFC.

Chili will be cooked offsite: Chili must be prepared before the event and transported to The Community Center @ AFC in an electric crockpot. Contestants are required to make a large crockpot of chili - more is encouraged as chili could run out before completion of the event. This is important so that we will have enough for customers. You will be required to keep your chili warm. Electricity will be provided to you.

Allowable Ingredients: Chili is defined many different ways but should resemble what traditional chili is (except variety category). No store bought or canned chili will be permitted.

Sanitization: Cooks are to prepare and cook chili in as sanitary a manner as possible. Please refer to the Madison County Health Department guidelines for more information.

A winner in each category will be named and voting will be determined by the audience based on ticket submissions each chili receives. An initial amount of tickets will be given upon entry but additional tickets may be purchased for additional votes.

Winners of each category will receive a custom gift and their names engraved on the Chili Cook-Off trophy. The chili cook-off is meant to help raise funds for The Community Center @ AFC. To learn more about its current inititraives, please visit afccommunity.org/acc-get-involved.
