SCRIPTURE
Prov 16:6 NASB By mercy and truth atonement is made for wrongdoing, And by the fear of the LORD one keeps away from evil.

NUGGET
God is both merciful and true at the same time. We see this at the cross. God doesn’t compromise truth. He is just and holy. To come before a holy God, there had to be a sacrifice. So God, in His mercy, sent Jesus to be that sacrifice. We see this in our daily walk with Him, too, don’t we? His uncompromising truth leads us in His ways while at the same time His goodness and mercy are with us always, even if we make a mistake or take a wrong turn.

ACTIVATION
When you think of who God is, do you tend to see Him as more lawful than kind? Or more “free and easy” than holy? Ask the Lord to reveal to you if you tend to skew one way or another and how that affects your relationship with Him.

PRAYER
God of Heaven, You are holy. Let me never forget. But also, remind me of Your goodness and kindness to me as a loving Father. Help me to see You as who You are.
