SCRIPTURE
2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

NUGGET
Good Friday is a day we remember what Jesus endured to secure our freedom. Scripture tells us He was beaten beyond recognition, spat on and mocked. He had to carry His own cross to Calvary where they put nails in His hands and feet. What He endured is important for us to remember because it’s what we should have endured. Jesus was blameless and yet took on our sin and punishment Himself. What would compel Jesus to do such a thing for us? Love. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). God is just and holy. In order for us to come before a holy God there had to be a blameless sacrifice for our sins. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are made righteous before God!

ACTIVATION
Do you know Jesus? Take some time today to think about what He did for you and why. Think about how much love it would take to do that? God wants relationship with you! Confess your sins to the Lord, ask Him to forgive you and make Him the Lord of Your life.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for sending Your Son to be the sacrifice for my sins. I ask You to forgive me. I invite You to be the Lord of my life. Thank You for loving me so much!
