SCRIPTURE
Phil 3:13b-14 TPT …I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.
NUGGET
We all make mistakes. This IS why Jesus came for us, lest we forget. The healthy way to recover from a mistake is to recognize it, repent, learn from it and then move on. It’s that last part that can be hard to do. Letting it go is especially difficult when the fallout affects other people. But for God to fully redeem our past mistakes, we have to fasten ourselves to the future. Imagine if Paul had lived in such a state of regret over his persecution of Christians before he encountered Jesus, that he didn’t look to the things God put before Him to do. We wouldn’t have half the New Testament but Paul would be just as forgiven either way. Keep your eyes fixed forward, on Jesus, and watch Him pave out a path of redemption before you!
ACTIVATION
Is there something you keep looking back at? Take 10 minutes of quiet time today with the Lord and ask Him to help you move on.
PRAYER
Lord, You see the ripple effect of my mistakes better than anyone. Thank You for being strong and merciful in making it all work together for good (Rm. 8:28) as I look to You and fasten myself to what you have in store for me.
