He Doesn't Hide

Isaiah 59:1-2 ESV Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

NUGGET
The words “your sins have hidden His face from you” fascinate me. When I mess up, I think of God turning His face away from me. But that’s not what it says here. His face is right there, but I can’t see Him! The one with the vision problem is me. What’s the remedy? Turn away from sin. The rest of the chapter details Israel’s bloodshed, injustice, and rebellion. But verse 20 says that God comes as a Redeemer for those who turn from transgression. In other words, turn toward God, and your vision will come back.

ACTIVATION
How is your vision these days? Do you feel like God is hiding His face from you, or are you seeing Him clearly? Ask the Lord if there is anything that is hindering your relationship with Him. If He points something out, quickly repent of it, and thank Him for His faithful forgiveness!

PRAYER
Father, thank You for not turning your face away from me. Give me a heart that always turns towards You. And if I get off the path in some area, show me quickly so I can turn around! Amen.
