Patience

SNAP

February 11, 2022 • Leah Paschall • Psalm 40:1–2

SCRIPTURE
Ps. 40:1-2 NIV I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the miry pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

NUGGET
Patience is underrated. We don’t talk about it a lot. But patience preserves us. It causes things to go more smoothly and keeps us from having problems the Lord never meant us to have. The danger in rushing ahead is that we rely on what we’ve reasoned out instead of trusting God to lead us. But when we wait for God, we get God’s solutions. When we learn to live patiently, we live more calmly and peacefully because ultimately, we’re trusting God to lead the way in His time.

ACTIVATION
In whatever it is you’re facing today, pour out your heart to God, then wait. Wait
for God to give you instruction about the next step and the right time to take it.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for hearing my prayers and pleas. You have the perfect
solution to my problems. I will rest in You while I wait to hear what You would
have me do next.
