SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 40:4 NKJV Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth;

NUGGET
I'm at the doc about to get a cortisone shot in my shoulder. This is not usually a pain-free process, but I am asking and expecting God to go before me and level off the painful place; to place analgesic in the joint so that it won't be nearly as painful. I have a couple friends praying too. For those who are in Christ, the LORD goes before us to make our paths straight. Scripture often describes how God prepares the paths of the righteous. This doesn't mean life is pain-free, but Scripture teaches us that our prayers make a difference. I just had my shot...and I think it hurt about 50% of what's normal. That's God showing up!

PRAYER
Lord, You are the Way-Maker and the Miracle-Worker. Thank You for the analgesic of Your presence. Lift me from, and lead me through, the painful places today with Your strength, power, and presence. In Jesus name. Amen.
