SCRIPTURE
1 John 4:7-8 ESV Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
NUGGET
I used to be such a to-do list person that I rarely saw people. I didn’t notice when I accidentally stomped on someone’s feelings. I wasn’t trying to be mean, I just didn’t get it. One day I heard a chapel speaker say, “You can’t love God without loving people.” God is crazy about every one of His children. You might not be a people-person, but Scripture doesn’t provide exemptions for personality types. You don’t have to be an extrovert, just be kind, compassionate, and learn to see people the way God sees them.
ACTIVATION
As you go through your day, take notice of every person you encounter. Look people in the eye. Awaken to whoever is around you and in front of you. Give a compliment or an encouraging word to the grocery clerk or drive-thru worker.
PRAYER
Papa God, You love people enthusiastically and with deep compassion. Come deposit that kind of love into my spirit. Build up my love muscles until they are strong with compassion. Make me aware of the people around me, and show me how to love them the way You do. Give me the gift of helping people feel significant.
