SCRIPTURE
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
NUGGET
There are many people who think a problem with the church is an overabundance of the teachings on grace (or what some people call, “cheap grace”). A philosophy that says, “Jesus died for my sins…woo hoo, now I can live however I want!”. What’s ironic about this attitude, is how it reveals so little about the revelation of what grace is in the first place. In-fact, when the Holy Spirit unveils our eyes to our need for Him and how we cannot save ourselves, an overabundance of gratitude cannot help but overflow when we see how amazing God’s undeserved favor (or grace) really is!
ACTIVATION
Ask the Lord to show you where in your life you have taken His grace for granted and confess your need for Him. Ask Him to forgive you and give you a renewed sense of what grace really is and what it means for your life!
PRAYER
Lord, I confess that at times, I have failed to understand or even acknowledge what your grace means in my life! Open my eyes to the wonderful ways you have blessed me, loved me and saved me…I pray for a deeper, richer understanding of your grace and that gratitude would overflow as you enlarge my perspective!
