The Word of God revives us, makes us wise, give us joy, gives light, endures forever, warns us, and leads to rewards. Nothing has greater impact on spiritual growth than reflection on Scripture.

Bearing Fruit

When you seek to know God’s Word more, Satan is not going to sit idly by. Instead, he is going to do all he can to take away God’s Word and keep it from entering your heart and bearing fruit in your life. Satan does this in three ways: (1) immediately through diversions [i.e., seeds that fell on the path], (2) gradually through hardships [i.e., seeds that fell on rocky ground], and (3) steadily through prosperity [i.e., seeds that fell among thorns]. We must battle the enemy so that God’s Word can take root deep in our hearts and change us from the inside out [i.e., seeds that fell on good soil].

Lie Detector

The good news is, God speaks. The bad news is, so does Satan. The difference is, when God speaks, he does so out of love, to bless you, to give you life, and draw you into his love. But, when Satan speaks, it is out of hatred, to destroy you, and fill your life with pain, fear, and sorrow. So, how do you distinguish God’s voice from Satan’s voice? The key is...the Bible. The Bible exposes Satan’s lies that he fills our minds with because you can measure his voice against God’s truth in the Scripture. What this means is, the more you know the Bible, the better you can recognize God’s voice of truth and detect Satan’s lies. To help you do this, ANCC is implementing the second key component of the upcoming Life Journal—SOAP, a simple, yet, effective method of studying and reflecting on God’s Word.

God Speaks

How do you know when God is speaking to you? Does he text or send an email? And, how do you know it is truly God speaking and not just your own imagination or thought? In the “Word of God” series, we take a look at how God speaks today through the Scripture and the posture we have to have in order to hear his voice in a way that is loud and clear. In addition, we expose the ways that the enemy tries to deafen our ears to the voice of God. Join us as we open our ears by opening our Bibles!
