In God We Trust

April 16, 2018

Imagine what a nation would look like who truly trusts in the Lord. Our national motto is “In God We Trust”, but do we? What would a nation look like that truly trusted in God? In Deuteronomy 4:6-8, Moses answers this question when he says “Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him? And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?” Please listen to this week’s timely Stand in the Gap Minute program as we learn the importance of trusting in the Lord.

Jesus the Messiah: It's a Matter of Life and Death

March 26, 2018

As Jesus’ entered into Jerusalem for the last time during his earthly ministry, the crowds honored him by laying down their coats and branches from palm trees. Little did they know that in a short time, Jesus would be raised up on a different “tree” as the ransom for their sin. As we take time this Easter week to remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, may we also be reminded of his words to us, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Matthew 16:24-26 Please listen to this week’s timely Stand in the Gap Minute program as we're reminded of what Easter week is all about.

Prayer Qualification #4: Right Motives

God wants to answer our prayers, but there are certain Biblical “qualifications” for answered prayers. Over the past few weeks, we’ve reviewed the first three qualifications: * A Clean Heart – unconfessed sin can hinder our prayers * Not our will – prayers must be in agreement with God’s Will * Faith believing – fully convinced that God can & will answer our prayers Please listen to this week’s timely Stand in the Gap Minute program as we examine this fourth qualification for effective prayers – right motives. And this begins in the heart.

Prayer Qualifiers

March 12, 2018

In Romans 4:20-21, it says that Abraham “… staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what He (God) had promised, He (God) was able also to perform.” Faith is a prerequisite for answered prayers. And if Abraham, a man whose life was full of mistakes and doubting God at times, could come to a place of faith in God for a seemingly impossible situation, there is hope for you and me to have faith as well!

Prayer Qualification #2: Not My Will

March 5, 2018

In Matthew 6:10 Jesus says “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done.” God’s kingdom can only come as His will is done, not our own will. If you desire God’s kingdom to come into your life as you pray, consider this: Whose kingdom are you seeking to build with your prayers, God’s or your own?

Prayer Qualification #1: A Clean Heart

February 26, 2018

Ever wonder why some mountains seem to be immovable no matter how much you pray? Over the next few weeks, we'll examine some of the primary hindrances to answered prayers. Reason #1 is the focus for this week.

Prayer Changes Things

February 19, 2018

Prayer changes things…right? Did you know that there are some prayers God says he will not answer? Over the next four weeks, we'll identify four primary reason why God says he won’t answer some prayers. Please listen to this week’s timely Stand in the Gap Minute program to learn about the importance of prayer.

Power in Prayer

February 12, 2018

When John the Baptist first saw Jesus coming to him, he said “BEHOLD the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” He drew everyone’s attention to Jesus, and publically acknowledged that Jesus was the ONLY one who could help people with their greatest need – deliverance from sin. Who do you look to in times of need? Friends? Government? Or God? Do you believe 1 Peter 5:7 that tells that He “cares for you” and wants to meet your needs? Please listen to this week’s timely Stand in the Gap Minute program as we're reminded, as John did, to BEHOLD our Lord Jesus in our times of need.

New Beginnings: In the Beginning was the Word

February 5, 2018

This world experiences different seasons, just as there are many “seasons” in life. But in every season, whether natural or spiritual, Jesus is there from beginning to end. He was there during earth’s first season; he will be there during earth’s last. Likewise, he will be there through every season of your life – the peaks, the valleys, but through it all, he remains constant, reliable, faithful. Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus is “the same, yesterday, today, and forever.” Please listen to this week’s timely Stand in the Gap Minute as we're reminded of eternal truths that can bring solace to our hearts each day.

Jerusalem Is Mine

January 29, 2018

Recently the UN passed a resolution, with the approval of many nations, that opposes God’s Word. When any nation, or individual, stands against God, they must be prepared to incur divine retribution. In Jeremiah 1:12, God says that he “watches over His Word to perform it.” This can work for a blessing or cursing – it simply depends upon whether our actions are in agreement with or opposed to His Word.

The Beginning and the End

January 22, 2018

The Author of all history, who was in the beginning and who knows the end, also knows whose names are written in that final chapter, who belongs to His heavenly family. God sent His Son, Jesus, to make it possible for anyone to become part of the family of God. Don’t wait! Accept Jesus today and ensure that your name is written in God’s book.

New Beginnings: God Created

January 8, 2018

As we begin this new year, take a moment to pause and consider the One who created all things in the very beginning. Each of us was known in the mind of God before Day 1 of creation. And it is His will for our lives to be overtaken by the joy and peace found only in Him – reason alone to praise Him throughout this year. Consider this vital question: Have you praised your Creator yet today?
