October is Pastor’s Appreciation month. A time set aside to honor our church leaders and express appreciation for their service in the work of the Lord.
Did you know that the job of being a Pastor is considered one of the most stressful jobs, second only to stay-at-home-Moms with young children? Add today’s challenging cultural issues into the mix and it’s a recipe for burnout, family trouble, and even suicide.
One Pastor described how he feels by saying, “
“Pastoring is like being a Gumby doll. You will get pulled in many directions and sometimes feel like a limb (is) fall(ing) off.”
Unfortunately, Pastors are usually on call 24/7 tending to the needs of their church while often neglecting the needs of their own spouse and children.
