Transcript: For the last week. I’ve been focusing on who God says He is. The Bible calls God a lawgiver, a term packed with truth for our lives today. Just laws are essential to the wellbeing of society. But did you realize they’re also important for our walk with God? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Isaiah 33:22 reads, “the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.” In ancient times, those who made the laws were not the legislative branch of today, but the kings who ruled. God as the lawgiver, acknowledges Him as supreme authority. As lawgiver, He’s also the determiner of all right and wrong. As the Lawmaker, God determines the not only the rules, but the consequences -whether blessing or punishment. May we learn the law in the Bible and choose to obey so blessing can be ours.
