Nearly every family in America includes a story of brokenness – another major problem in America. An entire generation’s been damaged by rampant divorce, and fatherless homes. Over 40 percent of America’s children are born into a single parent household. It’s rare to find a stable, godly home. II Timothy 3 says a sign of the last days is disobedience to parents, marriage problems and other godlessness. Yet we’re not without hope. Scripture encourages us to recognize God as our Father. Each of us, with God’s help start anew. Regardless of your past, you can change the future through a faithful marriage and as a godly parent. We need the Lord’s strength to lead well in our family, but it’s not impossible. This is one problem that can be fixed if we pursue God’s plan for the family in God’s way.

Thursday, April 22, 2021 - Train Up a Child Series: Answering Questions
April 22, 2021
Transcript: Can we answer the significant questions of life for the next generation? Yes, but we must know what God’s Word teaches—and be equipped to share it! Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. The most recent Barna statistics share that the youngest generation, Generation Z, includes only two percent of Americans who hold a biblical worldview. These young people have access to more information than any group in human history, yet are the most biblically illiterate. The way to help is to both know God’s truth and to share it. Are you regularly studying God’s Word for your own spiritual growth? If not, begin there. Also, start with your own child or help another person with their questions. Whether creation, family, or other important issue, God has called you to be an influence to answer the most important questions of the next generation. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 - Train Up a Child Series: Fear and Obey God
April 21, 2021
Transcript There is a reason God told Israel’s fathers in Deuteronomy 6 to fear God and raise up their children to fear the Lord. Fearing God is the foundation to personal and national success. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Deuteronomy 6:2 teaches, “That you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all his statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.” Verse three adds “that it may be well with you.” Our fear of the Lord extends life and offers security as we live according to God’s ways. You must personally invest in your child’s life to help them know the ways of the Lord. We don’t outsource godly teaching; we are called to equip our children with God’s Word. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - Train Up a Child Series: A Virtuous and Godly Education
April 20, 2021
Transcript: American founding father William Penn stated that the only way God could raise up a nation of self-governing people and to continue to bless it was through, “A virtuous and godly education of the youth.” What does it mean to equip the next generation with a godly education? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In contrast with William Penn’s God-honoring approach, Soviet communist Vladimir Lenin said, “Give me just one generation of youth and I’ll transform the whole world.” Today’s cultural values tend to more closely align with Lenin than with our founding fathers. Yet Scripture implores us to equip our children with a Christian worldview. Our children need more than just math and science; they also need a solid foundation of Scripture. Make time to read the Bible with your children and grandchildren. Don’t let the culture raise your children. Equip your kids with the truth of Christ.
